The structure of gymnastics in the United States
The gymnastics college season runs from January to April. There are 15 meets in total, which means you will practice less and more game time. The college association only allows 20 hours of practice a week. In comparison, professional gymnasts which perform in the Olympics typically practice 40 hours for one run. With women’s gymnastics in the NCAA, the traditional 10-system is used. Gymnasts start with a 10.0 and work their way down. A 9.95 is therefore still a near perfect store.
